Jalapeño Popper Roll-ups
adapted from Tasty Kitchen
Ingredients
1 8 oz. package 1/3 less fat cream cheese (softened)4 oz. canned, diced jalapeños (or fresh if you prefer)
1 tablespoon sugar
1 package Reduced Fat Crescent Rolls
Directions
Preheat oven 375 degrees F.
In a medium mixing bowl, place the softened cream cheese (about ¾ of the package). Make sure you only use about ¾ of the cream cheese package, maybe even less, because otherwise you will whole bunch left over. Add half of the diced jalapeños to the cream cheese (or more if you like the spiciness). Next, mix in the tablespoon of sugar. Stir together really well using a fork or spoon.

Set your bowl of cream cheese mixture aside and open up your tube of crescent rolls. Separate them into two rectangles (splitting the package in half along the straight perforated line). Pinch together the slanted perforations to create two nice rectangles.
Take your bowl of cream cheese mixture and spread half of it onto each rectangle. Once you have spread cream cheese onto the rectangles, take one rectangle, and beginning with the LONG end, roll it up. After this has been rolled all of the way, repeat with the other rectangle. Once this is done, begin to cut your "log" of jalapeño popper goodness. Make a cut about every inch or so, depending on how thick you would like them.
Lightly grease a cookie sheet and place your pinwheels on the sheet, laying them flat. Bake for about 13 minutes, but keep an eye on them because all ovens were not created equal. Once they are a golden honey color, take them out and enjoy with your favorite beer while you cheer on your favorite team.
Mmmm mmmm MM!
ReplyDeleteThose look delicious! Oh. and btw I appreciate your correct usage of the first person singular object "me" as found in the sentence "...decided to whip these up for Nate and me to snack on..."
